Welcome to EarnScreen ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with our mobile application, EarnScreen (the "App").

2. Our Privacy Commitment

EarnScreen is built on a simple principle: your data belongs to you and stays on your device. We believe that privacy is a fundamental right, not a feature.

What This Means:

• We do not collect any personal information
• We do not track your behavior or usage patterns
• We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties
• We do not use analytics or tracking tools
• We do not store your data on our servers

3. Information We Do Not Collect

EarnScreen does not collect, store, or process any of the following:

Personal Information:

• Location data or GPS coordinates
• Photos, videos, or camera access
• Contacts or address book
• Demographic information

Usage Data:

• App usage analytics
• Feature usage patterns
• Crash reports or error logs
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs

Quest & Activity Data:

• Your quest completions and history
• Brain Credits earned or spent
• Apps you choose to block or unlock
• Motion or activity data from sensors
• Streak counts or progress tracking

All of this data is stored locally on your device only.

4. How the App Works

On-Device Processing

EarnScreen operates entirely on your device using Apple's built-in frameworks:

• FamilyControls & ManagedSettings: Used to block and unblock apps. This data never leaves your device.
• CoreMotion: Used to verify walking and running activities. All processing happens locally.
• DeviceActivity: Used for scheduling and monitoring. No data is transmitted.
• Local Storage: Your credits, quests, and settings are stored using iOS's built-in local storage (UserDefaults/Core Data).

Motion & Activity Detection

When you complete walking or running quests, EarnScreen uses your device's motion sensors (accelerometer and gyroscope) to verify actual movement. This data:

• Is processed entirely on your device
• Is never stored beyond the duration of the quest
• Is never transmitted to any server
• Cannot be accessed by us or any third party

5. Permissions We Request

EarnScreen requires certain iOS permissions to function. Here's what we ask for and why:

Screen Time (Family Controls):

Why: This is required to block and unblock apps based on your Brain Credits.

Data Access: Limited to managing app restrictions. We cannot see which apps you use or for how long.

Motion & Fitness:

Why: To verify walking and running quests using your device's motion sensors.

Data Access: Only motion data during active quests. No historical data is accessed or stored.

Notifications:

Why: To remind you about quests and notify you when apps are re-blocked.

Data Access: None. Notifications are scheduled locally on your device.

You can revoke any of these permissions at any time in iOS Settings.

6. Parent-Child Mode (Optional Feature)

EarnScreen offers an optional Parent-Child mode where:

• Parents can monitor their child's quest completion and credit balance
• This feature uses Apple's CloudKit for data synchronization between devices
• Only quest completion counts and credit balances are synced (no detailed activity data)
• Data is encrypted in transit and stored in your private iCloud container
• We cannot access this data - it's stored in your personal iCloud account
• This feature is completely optional and disabled by default

7. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions

EarnScreen offers in-app purchases and subscriptions processed through Apple's App Store:

• All payment processing is handled by Apple
• We do not have access to your payment information
• We do not store credit card numbers or billing addresses
• Apple's privacy policy applies to payment data

8. Third-Party Services

EarnScreen does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. We do not use:

• Google Analytics or Firebase
• Facebook SDK or Meta Pixel
• Advertising networks
• Crash reporting tools (like Crashlytics)
• A/B testing platforms

The only third-party services we rely on are Apple's own frameworks, which are governed by Apple's privacy policies.

9. Children's Privacy

EarnScreen is suitable for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

For the optional Parent-Child mode, parental consent is required during setup.

10. Data Security

Since we don't collect or store your data, there's no data to breach. However, we still take security seriously:

• All data is stored locally on your device using iOS's secure storage mechanisms
• Your device's built-in encryption protects your data
• We regularly update the app to address any security vulnerabilities
• Source code is reviewed for security best practices

11. Your Rights & Choices

Because we don't collect your data, traditional privacy rights (like data access, deletion, or portability) don't apply. However, you have complete control:

Data Control:

• Delete All Data: You can reset all data in the app's settings, or simply delete the app
• Disable Features: You can disable motion tracking, notifications, or any other feature at any time
• Revoke Permissions: Manage app permissions in iOS Settings

Account Deletion:

EarnScreen does not require an account. Simply deleting the app removes all local data.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we do:

• We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top
• We will notify you through the app if changes are material
• The latest version will always be available at this URL

Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

13. International Users

EarnScreen is available worldwide. Since all data processing happens on your device:

• No data crosses international borders
• We comply with GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy regulations by design
• Data residency concerns don't apply (data stays on your device)

14. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

California residents have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). However, since EarnScreen does not collect personal information:

• We have no personal information to disclose, delete, or provide
• We do not sell personal information
• We do not discriminate based on privacy choices

15. European Privacy Rights (GDPR)

For users in the European Economic Area, UK, and Switzerland:

• We do not process personal data as defined by GDPR
• No data controller or processor relationship exists
• All processing happens locally on your device
• No consent is needed for data collection (since we don't collect any)
